Diversity Dinner: Uniting with Food to Celebrate Our Differences
From September through May, the Pelican Rapids Multicultural Committee hosts a Diversity Dinner in the public library’s Community Room. This potluck-style, multicultural meal is held on the last Sunday of each month during the school year at Pelican Rapids Public Library.
Members of the community are encouraged to contribute their own unique food or refreshment while partaking in sharing stories and cultures with one another. The greatest hope is that by coming together to share these diverse dishes with our neighbors, we can make new friends, break barriers, and actively communicate, learn, and grow with one another. In doing this, Pelican Rapids can truly be a town built on a solid foundation of love and appreciation for the many different cultures found within our community.
